GENERAL EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES CONDITIONS

Extracurricular activities General Conditions

 

These activities are reserved for the children of the European School of Luxembourg II (and I).

A list of extracurricular activities for the current year can be found in the  menu Parent/Subscribe to a course.

 

RULES

  • All pupils must observe the general school rules and behave in an appropriate manner during their participation in all extracurricular activities.
  • Food may only be consumed in places authorised by the School.
  • If an activity session is cancelled by APEEEL2 or by the monitor for any reason, the pupils will be notified in advance.
  • Personal information required for registration purposes will not be divulged by APEEEL2 without permission.
  • If a pupil is absent for his class, we kindly ask the parent to inform the monitor and APEEEL2 as soon as possible.
  • A minimum number of participants is required for each group activity. If this number is not reached, APEEEL2 reserves the right to cancel the activity.

 

ENROLMENT PROCEDURE

  • Enrolment is only available via the APEEEL2 extracurricular activities website  https://periscolaire.apeeel2.lu/
  • All payments must be made online by credit card. A confirmation will be sent to you by E-mail.
  • Once a course is full, a waiting list system operates. If a space subsequently becomes available, or if a duplicate course is opened, the parents who are on the waiting list will have priority for inscription.
  • If places are available, late inscription may be possible. In all such cases please contact the APEEEL2. secretariat. The fees will be prorated.

 

REIMBURSEMENT

  • APEEEL2 reserves the right to modify the activities.
  • In case of a full and definitive cancellation of an activity by APEEEL2, the fees paid in advance will be fully refunded.
  • Reimbursement will only be possible at the latest after the first two sessions following the start of the activity; however, a fee of EUR 30 will be retained by APEEEL2 to cover administrative fees.
  • After this date, reimbursement will only be possible in exceptional cases and justified circumstances (e.g. medical certificate of long duration). A fee of EUR 30 will also be retained by APEEEL2 to cover administrative fees.
  • In case of a transfer from one activity to another, a fee of EUR 30 will be retained by APEEEL2.
  • No refund will be made for occasional absences, either by pupils or monitors.
  • In the event of expulsion for misbehavior, no refund will be made.
  • All reimbursements by APEEEL2 will take place by December 2018.

 

PRIVATE LESSONS

  • Lessons may only take place in the school.
  • Pupils are expected to bring their own instrument (except piano, percussion).
  • The possibility of external examinations should be seen with the monitor. A specific payment may be required.
  • Monitors will recommend appropriate music scores. These have to be purchased separately by parents of the pupils.
  • If the monitor is absent, lessons should be recuperated according to mutual agreement between the monitor and the parent.
  • Except for duly certified medical reasons, a maximum of three absences are allowed per pupil/per class/per year. In the event of foreseeable absence by the pupil, please give 24 hours’ notice to the monitor and the APEEEL2. secretariat. No refund is possible: recuperation of the lesson is at the discretion of the monitor.
  • In the event of withdrawal by a pupil during a term, no refund will be made for that term unless there are exceptional and justified circumstances.
  • Provided a minimum of two weeks’ notice is given before the end of the term, fees for subsequent term(s) will be refunded (i.e. the signed transfer instruction will not be sent to the bank), however a fee of EUR 30 will be retained by the organizers to cover administrative fees.

 

SUMMER CAMPS

  • All actvities are subject to the weather conditions.
  • A minimum of participants is required for each camp (and each week if the camp has more than one week) in order for the camp to be confirmed.
  • The programme of activities in each summer camp and for each week is succeptible to change without notice without any compensation.
  • Within the same family, a 10% refund will be granted  for each reservation starting from the 3rd child. The refund must be requested directly to APEEEL2's office by email on office@apeeel2.lu

 

HEALTH

  • Participating children are insured against accident under the School scheme.
  • In an emergency, course supervisors or APEEEL2. representatives will act in loco parentis.
  • Parents must inform APEEEL2 of all relevant health issues prior to registration. In certain circumstances, APEEEL2 reserves the right to refuse a registration.

 

SECURITY

  • APEEEL2 is not responsible for unsupervised pupils either before or after the activities and hereby declines all responsibility for unsupervised pupils when no accompaniment has been arranged with APEEEL2.
  • For the duration of the activity session, the course supervisor assumes all responsibility for surveillance.
  • It is important that pupils arrive on time and are collected punctually at the end of the activity session.
  • To avoid inconveniencing other activities, children must not enter rooms early, or leave late.
  • Students must never enter the classrooms before the course supervisor arrives.
  • Parents must remain with their child until the course supervisor arrives.
  • During the activity session, parents are asked not to remain in the classroom where the activity is taking place.  Depending on the location of the activities some waiting areas may be in place.
  • Parents are requested to use the main entrance when entering and leaving the school and not to open/close other security doors.
  • Valuable objects should not be left in the cloakrooms/changing room as APEEEL2 will not be held responsible for any loss.
